Spring 2019 Registration

Registration for the 2019 GRTYSA Spring Mod Season, ages U5 through U9, is now open. Here's the registration link: http://grtysa-southlake.sportsaffinity.com/

• GRTYSA player registration fee is $60. The fee is lower than fall as most players will be able to re-use their jersey from the fall. New players will receive new jerseys.
• Registration closes on February 28th, so register early. Returning player must register by this date to ensure a spot on their fall team.
• The U5 Division will be coed with boys and girls on the same team. U6-U9 have separate boys and girls divisions.
• The age chart for spring soccer is the same one used for fall soccer. For example, if your child played U7 soccer in the fall, they will still play U-7 soccer during the spring season.
• When requesting a team, please use the coach's name instead of the team name. This will help eliminate confusion when assigning players.
• If you are or plan on being a head coach of a team, please select pay by check. Head coaches get their player fees waived and if you pay by credit card the association will get charged a processing fee for a fee that we end up refunding. If you are not selected as a head coach, we will bill you later.
• If you do not plan to coach this season, please send an email to Tony Leavitt so we can find a replacement.

USSF (United States Soccer Federation) Rules

USSF (United States Soccer Federation) mandated player development initiatives for Fall 2017. GRTYSA adopted these new standards starting in the Fall of 2016.

Here are the basics in regards of the birth year initiative:

  • Organizing youth born in the same year to play at the same age group simplifies and standardizes soccer structure across the nation.
  • Coaches do have the option to "play up" in order to keep their team together. This will be a coach decision.
  • Having players train and play according to their age and developmental stage supports the objectives of the small sided standards by focusing on the physiological and developmental needs of the player.
